We check more than the price.

A low advertised price doesn’t always mean a good deal. We review the parts that can change what you actually pay:

The number that matters is the final deal.

  • Vehicle price
  • Manufacturer incentives
  • Negotiated discount
  • Interest rate or lease terms
  • Dealer add-ons
  • Taxes and fees
  • Final payment
  • Contract before signing

A discount can disappear at the dealership.

That’s why we check the whole deal, not just the advertised price.

Who this is not for

Better to say it now than after you’ve paid.

  • You need the car in 1-2 days

Real competition between dealers takes time. We need 4 business days.

  • You plan to buy more than 4 business days from now

We negotiate for cars that are in stock right now. Later, that car and its deal may be gone.

  • Your credit score is below 600

  • A bankruptcy, a repossession, or late payments on cards or loans

  • You haven’t picked the car yet

We don’t consult on what to buy. It’s easier to start with the catalog.

  • You want a used car

We work with new cars only.

  • You want a factory order

It takes weeks to arrive, and we negotiate for cars in stock now.

  • You’re also negotiating with the same dealers yourself

Two buyers asking for the same car weaken the negotiation.

Let’s find your car.

Tell us what you’re looking for. It takes about 2 minutes.

    Car buying service: questions

What is a car buying service?

A car buying service finds the car you want and negotiates the deal for you, so you do not haggle at the dealership yourself. Hunter.Lease is a licensed California auto broker (#21138): we contact multiple dealers, make them compete on your exact request, check the price, rate and add-ons, and show you the final terms before you decide. Lease, finance or cash, new cars only.

How much does a car buying service cost?

Hunter.Lease charges a flat $149 search fee, or a $550 deposit that comes back when you take the car within 3 days of the bank’s approval or if the bank declines. The payment pays for the search itself and never reduces the price of the car.

Car broker or dealer: what is the difference?

A dealer sells the cars on its own lot at its own price. A broker works for you: Hunter.Lease is a licensed California auto broker (#21138), not a dealer. We take your request to several dealers and compare their offers; you still sign with the authorized dealer and get the manufacturer’s warranty. How a lease broker works, or, if you would rather negotiate yourself, how to negotiate a car lease.

How long does the search take?

4 business days. That is how long dealers need to compete for a car that is in stock now.

    Do I need perfect credit?

No, but you need a score of 600 or higher and no bankruptcies, repossessions or late payments. Your payment depends on your credit profile and the bank program available for the vehicle.

Can you find a specific color or trim?

Yes. Tell us exactly what you want. You can also tell us which alternatives you would consider.

Do you work with one dealership?

No. We compare offers from multiple dealers whenever possible.

Can the numbers change at the dealership?

Our job is to verify the deal before delivery and catch changes before you sign.

What if you can’t find my car?

We’ll let you know what is available and what alternatives are closest to your request.

What happens to my $149 or $550?

The $149 search fee is not refunded in any case. The $550 deposit comes back in full in two cases only: you take the car within 3 days of the bank’s approval, or the bank declines. In any other case it stays with us.

    Tell us the car.
    We’ll work on the deal.
