Effective date: August 31, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Cargwin LLC, doing business as Hunter.Lease ("Hunter.Lease," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use hunter.lease. Hunter.Lease is a licensed California auto broker (DMV license #21138); it is not a dealership or a lender. We will post any material change to this policy on this page with an updated effective date, and where appropriate we will give you additional notice (for example, by email or an in-site notice) before the change takes effect.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service, including the informal-dispute-resolution requirement and the arbitration agreement and class action waiver in Sections 14 and 15 of those Terms.
This is a summary of the personal information we collect and why. The sections that follow give the full detail.
Categories of personal information we collect:
Why we collect it: to provide the service you request (browsing vehicles, generating a quote, placing a service fee, and arranging a lease or finance deal), to communicate with you, to operate and improve the site, and to keep it secure.
Whether we sell or share it: We do not sell your personal information. If, and only if, you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner, we share limited device and browsing information (and, when you pay our booking service fee, a one-way hashed form of your email, phone number, and ZIP code) with Meta Platforms for advertising measurement; California law treats this as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can decline it, opt out of it, or withdraw your consent at any time, as described in the "Cookies, Analytics, and How We Record Site Interactions" section. Apart from that consent-based sharing, we share your information only with the dealers, lenders, and service providers needed to deliver the service you requested, as described below.
How long we keep it: We keep each category only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and for our legal and recordkeeping obligations, as described in the "How Long We Keep Your Information" section.

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, and phone number, and, when you ask us to arrange financing, your date of birth, address, employment history, income, and Social Security Number (collected in a credit application and by the lender; where a prequalification step is offered, it asks for the full number only when it cannot match you by name and address). A Social Security Number is required to arrange financing.
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you use the site, such as your device and browser type, screen size, language preference, the page that referred you, the pages you view and how long you stay, an analytics identifier, your approximate location, and the ZIP code used to price offers for your area. The "Cookies, Analytics, and How We Record Site Interactions" section explains the specific tools that collect this information.
To show how far a listed car is from you without asking you to type your ZIP code, we look up your approximate city-level location from your IP address using MaxMind's GeoLite2 service. We use it only to display an approximate distance range, never to set your price, and we keep only the approximate coordinates, in memory, for up to one day. Your IP address is not stored in our database for this purpose. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we skip this lookup entirely, and the distance is simply not shown.
Photographs and video at delivery. If you say yes when a member of our team asks at vehicle delivery, we collect photographs or video that include your image and voice and images of the vehicle, and we publish them in our own marketing as described in Section 22 of the Terms of Service. This is optional, refusing changes nothing about your deal, and you can withdraw permission at any time by emailing hello@hunter.lease. We obscure the license plate unless you tell us in writing that you do not mind it being shown, and we never publish your vehicle identification number, address, payment or financing amounts, credit information, or Social Security Number. We do not sell this material and we do not license it to dealers, lenders, or anyone else for their own marketing.
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, to communicate with you, and to process your requests for vehicle leasing and financing. We use your financial and credit information solely to arrange credit approval with our lending and dealer partners for the deal you request, and, where a prequalification step is offered and you authorize it, to prequalify you. We do not use this information for unrelated purposes, and we do not use it for advertising.
We share your information with our network of authorized dealers and financial institutions solely to arrange the vehicle lease or finance terms you request, and with service providers (such as our payment processor and the analytics and error-monitoring tools listed below) that help us operate the site. These service providers act on our behalf under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us and prohibit them from selling your information or using it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information. The only sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising we engage in is the advertising measurement with Meta described in the next section; it happens only while a Meta campaign is running, only until you switch targeting cookies off, and never under a Global Privacy Control signal.
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences (such as language and ZIP code), keep the site secure, and understand how it is used so we can improve it.
We use a small number of named tools to do this, and we are specific about them so you know exactly who processes your interactions with the site:
These tools record how you interact with the site as you use it. The information collected by the tools listed above goes only to Hunter.Lease and to the service providers listed above acting on our behalf; it is not used to track you across other companies' websites for advertising. The advertising pixel described next is the one exception, and it runs only with your consent.
Advertising pixel (Meta), only with your consent. When we run advertising campaigns on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), we use the Meta pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure whether our ads work. Neither runs by default: the pixel loads only after you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner, and never if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. If you accept while a campaign is enabled, the pixel sets Meta cookies (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Meta ad) and sends Meta the pages you view on our site and the funnel steps you complete. If you later pay our booking service fee, our server also sends Meta the same conversion event with a one-way hashed (SHA-256) form of your email address, phone number, and ZIP code, so Meta can match the conversion to the ad you saw. We never send Meta your Social Security Number, your credit application, your credit score or tier, your income, the payment amounts of your lease or finance deal, or any document you upload. California law treats this use of an advertising pixel as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and California is an opt-out state: we therefore give you a working opt-out rather than asking first. We treat switching off targeting cookies in "Your Privacy Choices," a Global Privacy Control signal, and any later withdrawal as an opt-out of that sharing: the pixel stops sending, and our server sends nothing. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" or "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer. Apart from Meta as described here, we do not use advertising cookies or social-media tracking pixels: no Google Ads and no TikTok.
When you answer our cookie banner, we record your choice on our servers: the choice itself, the date and time, the version of the banner text you saw, your interface language, whether a Global Privacy Control signal was present, and the pseudonymous visitor identifier described above. We keep this record so we can honor your choice and prove that we did; it is not used for anything else.
You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, we do not respond to them separately; we do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as described below.
Your agreement to these technologies. By using the Platform you also agree to our Terms of Service, which include your consent to the technologies described in this Section and a waiver, to the fullest extent permitted by law, of claims that their use constitutes unlawful interception or wiretapping. See Section 10 of the Terms of Service. This does not change the choices described in Section 10: you may switch analytics and advertising technologies off at any time, including both at once, and we honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including transmission over encrypted connections and access controls that limit who can see financing applications. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
While we work to keep the Platform secure and reliable, the confidentiality of information transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed. By using the Platform you acknowledge and assume the inherent risks of internet-based data transfer, and you agree that disputes relating to those risks are subject to the arbitration agreement in Section 15 of the Terms of Service.
We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete it or render it no longer identifiable.
The periods below describe how we determine retention for each category:
In each case, we keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations, rather than for a fixed period we have set in advance. Where we are required to keep information for a longer period by law, we retain it for that required period and then delete it.
You do not have to wait for us to decide that a period has run out. If you have an account, the My Data page shows what we hold about you and erases your credit application, stored Social Security Number, uploaded ID document, and credit score on request, in one click. You can also ask us to do it by emailing hello@hunter.lease. We keep the record of the authorizations you gave us, because we are required to be able to prove them.
Backups and archives. When we delete personal information from our active systems, inactive archival or backup copies may remain for a limited period until they are overwritten in the ordinary course. We do not use those copies for any purpose other than disaster recovery and meeting our legal obligations, and they are deleted on our normal backup cycle.
If you are a California resident, we offer the privacy choices below as a courtesy and provide them as required where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us. Subject to that law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access a copy of it, to request that we correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Some of the information we collect is sensitive personal information, including your Social Security Number and financial information; we use and disclose sensitive personal information only to provide the services you request, never for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. If you consent through our cookie banner, we share limited information with Meta for advertising measurement, as described in "Cookies, Analytics, and How We Record Site Interactions"; that is the only sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising we do, and you can opt out of it at any time: choose "Decline" on the banner, use "Your Privacy Choices" or "Cookie settings" in the footer, or turn on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor as an opt-out of sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Please note that information we collect to arrange your financing (such as your Social Security Number, income, and credit information) is regulated under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and how we handle it is described in our Financial Privacy Notice at /financial-privacy. Because that information is necessary to provide the financing you asked us to arrange, you can decline to proceed with a financing request, but we cannot remove your Social Security Number from a credit application you have already submitted and still arrange that financing. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 18 years of age, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, including your Social Security Number and financial account information, to infer characteristics about you or for any purpose other than the limited purposes permitted by California law, such as providing our services and verifying, maintaining the quality of, and improving them.
Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right. A difference is permitted only where it is reasonably related to the effect the exercise of the right has on our ability to serve you, or where the law otherwise allows it.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents who have an established business relationship with us ask once a year about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. You may still send a request to hello@hunter.lease with the subject line "Shine the Light Request."
Our services are aimed at California, but our Terms of Service allow United States residents generally to use the Platform. If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have rights to confirm whether we process your personal information, to access a copy of it in a portable form, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale of personal information. The exact scope of these rights varies by state. To exercise them, use the process in Section 11, which is the same process we use for California requests. We honor the Global Privacy Control as an opt-out signal for residents of every state whose law recognizes one.
Nevada. Nevada Revised Statutes Section 603A.340 lets Nevada consumers tell a business not to sell certain personal information for money. We do not make that kind of sale. Nevada consumers may still submit a request to hello@hunter.lease, which is our designated request address for this purpose.
You can manage cookies through your browser, change your cookie-banner choice at any time via "Cookie settings" or "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your information as described in "How to Submit a Privacy Request."
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out preference signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information: our cookie banner is answered "decline" for you automatically, no analytics cookies are set, the Meta advertising pixel never loads, our server sends Meta nothing, and we skip the IP-based location lookup described above. GPC also overrides a previous "Accept": if you accepted earlier and later turn GPC on, tracking and sharing stay off.
To exercise any of the rights described above, you can contact us by email at hello@hunter.lease. Please tell us what you are requesting (for example, access, correction, or deletion) and provide enough information for us to locate your records and verify that the request is yours. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will not use the information you provide for any purpose other than handling your request. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof that you authorized them.
We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
You do not need an account with us to submit a privacy request, and using an authorized agent does not change how we handle it.
Appeals. If we decline to act on your request, we will tell you why. You may appeal that decision by emailing hello@hunter.lease with the subject line "Appeal of Privacy Rights Request" and anything you would like us to consider. We will respond to the appeal within the time required by applicable law, and if we again decline we will tell you how to contact the relevant state authority.
Our services are intended only for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please do not use the site or provide any information to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@hunter.lease so we can remove it.
If you are a California resident under 18 and you are a registered user of the site, you may ask us to remove content or information you posted. Email hello@hunter.lease with the subject line "California Under 18 Content Removal Request" and tell us what to remove. We will remove it from public view, although removal may not be complete or comprehensive and we may keep copies where the law requires it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate, for example by email or an in-site notice before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the site after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
We work to make the site reasonably accessible, including to people using assistive technology, and we aim for substantial conformance with recognized accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We do not guarantee that every feature will be fully accessible at all times. If you have difficulty using any part of the site, including this policy or the privacy request process, contact us at hello@hunter.lease and we will give you the same information or complete the same request another way.
